This August, Team Restored from Shame will once again travel to Kenya to provide empirically supported trauma treatment to the men and women of Teen Challenge Kenya who are .struggling with PTSD, toxic shame, and addiction
For the past five years, we have witnessed incredible transformation and healing. Our group therapy model now has nine research samples demonstrating significant reductions in PTSD symptoms and toxic shame while helping break the addiction cycle. This June, I will be presenting these findings at the National Teen Challenge Conference in Phoenix.
Lives are truly being changed.
When individuals heal from toxic shame and trauma, they begin to rediscover hope, identity, purpose, and freedom. Many of the men and women we serve have endured deep trauma, abuse, rejection, addiction, and hopelessness. Through this ministry and treatment model, they are experiencing healing and restoration.
This year brings even greater opportunities!
In addition to providing treatment at the three Teen Challenge Kenya sites, I have been invited to conduct a two-day Jones Trauma Model training conference for counselors, psychologists, Teen Challenge staff, and ministry leaders in the Nairobi area. One of Kenya’s leading university trauma specialists will also participate, bringing faculty members and students. Other African Teen Challenge leaders are being invited as well.
This opens the door for the Jones Trauma Model and Restored from Shame to impact lives far beyond a single mission trip.

Our team members sacrifice two weeks of work, personally cover their airfare, and give their time to serve. To help keep costs manageable, we are limiting the team to nine members this year. Even so, we cannot accomplish this mission without substantial help from others.
